Cost Versus Benefit Part 1 Health

Cost versus benefit in respect to health, environmental impacts and budget is a balancing act. All are values and have priority. Today I will talk about two habits I have developed that are an investment into my long term health. Without health life can be very difficult, and limit one's freedom.
Health
Hot Yoga
I invest in weekly Bikhram Yoga. Its my time for my body. It provides a great rate of return. I sweat and release toxins. I am so dang hot that I finally relax. My body becomes toned and my posture improves. I gained 20 lb after the birth of dd1, and have not been able to shed it. The cost is $50 a month. I am still tightening my budget so the Hot Yoga funds are not readily available.
Juicing
I juice carrots, kale, parsley and celery every morning for breakfast. It is time consuming, and creates a real mess of vegetables, and juicer parts. The cost is about $30 a week. I feel great. It gives me energy, provides nutrients and aid in detoxification. It provides 16 oz of fluids and my skin glows. I look ten years younger according to my dear mother. Better than any beauty cream or celebrity beauty secret.

No shopping week

This week I will not shop. I will not put any expenditures on the credit card. I will use what produce I have and cook out of the pantry. I am not sure how well I will succeed, what trail and tribulations I will encounter but I will focus on not spending a dime. Yeah, I love having goals.

Sharing time with Friends

Hosting a summer barbecue, potluck or dinner creates a space for friends and family to gather. Sharing time is an investment into community, requiring only time, energy and food.
